was reading here earlier about some vertec system and how it reached 137db's and how now 210 cab could even come close. ive personally had my a-5's, summed with my heathkit as-101's to 132 db's. i know that 5 db's at this range is alot but please dont sell my old altecs short..they are very loud and with absolutely no distortion. i feel much better now, just had to vent a little..lol

gotta clarify a little bit. i was using mi speakers at the time, and reduced the impedance of one of my 418's to about 2 ohms as the result of this..still

Okay- I haven't read the original post, and I'm not gonna bother.

But the whole thing sounds really supid. It's like comparing an original Corvette from 1953 to the 2008.

Wow man- the 2008 Corvette with a V8 is a lot faster than a 1953 that only had a 6 cylinder and automatic.

See any difference? I don't.

They were built in different times, for different purposes.

Any intelligent man would realize that a 1953 corvette is worth several times what a current model is.

And as soon as something replaces the line array, which is now the "flavor of the month", those Vertecs will be gutted and the boxes s*******.

It'll be just like multicells-

If it sounded good in the first place, it still sounds good. I'm not a dedicated follower of fashion. My apologies to Ray Davies...
